A man in his early twenties, identified as Aigbe Etinosa, has escaped being killed by cultists suspected to be members of the deadly Eiye cult group, after the cultists have killed his lover and mother of his son, Aigbe Godswill, Esther Omoregie over his (Aigbe Etinosa) refusal to join the group, as planned and instigated by one Omorogbe Osapkolor, a student of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State.
The said Aigbe Etinosa, became enveloped in problem on November 2 2016, when his friend, Omorogbe Osakpolor tried to influence him to join the cult group but failed and not comfortable with the development, the said cultist friend warned him of the dire consequences if he is allowed to reveal his ordeal to anybody, threatening to kill him and his entire family.
It is noted that when the said Omorogbe Osakpolor eventually came back from school at Auchi, he ceaselessly visited the house of Aigbe Etinosa with the intent to ensure he initiates him into the cult group and also visited him at the village Akugbe Primary School in Urhonigbe Village, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, with multitude of different boys who were armed with gun, battle axes, knives and broken bottles, which they used to threaten him.
To downplay his convince, the said Omorogbe Osakpolor on friendly tunes, asked why the said Aigbe Etinosa has refused to join, but in his reply, he told him he wanted to live a responsible life which he saw in his father as a polygamist.
A source who spoke to corroborate the assertion of Aigbe Etinosa said that on the 8th of March 2017, barely five minutes, he (Aigbe Etinosa) just returned from the farm, the said Omorogbe Osakpolor led other cultists, who were on rampage to their house and met him and his lover, Esther Omoregie, who had a son for him out of wedlock, as they started beating him (Aigbe Etinosa) and injured him on the head and body and thereafter broke his left hand and right leg in the process and was also bleeding profusely to the extent that his lover and mother of his child started shouting and in the process of doing that, the cultists shot her dead.
As the cultists were still planning to kill him, they immediately heard sound of a motorcycle from the opposite direction and they became frightened about what could be the resultant effect of their actions and inactions, especially when it became apparent that they will be made to face the full wrath of the law if caught, escaped.
After their escape, according to the source, some good Samaritans, one Obeyan and his son then rushed Aigbe Etinosa to the Urhonigbe General Hospital and informed his parents of what transpired against their son and after spending three months and two weeks, he was discharged, as his late lover was buried, before he (Aigbe Etinosa) went to the Uhronigbe Police Station to lodge a report and the police, who supposed to bring justice to him, by exceptional in handling the case to influence justice, started demanding for money to discharge their duties and not able to fulfill the financial obligation to the police, the police advised him to escape, since his lover has been killed.
The source retorted that as at the time of filling this report, the said Aigbe Etinosa had escaped to an unknown place.
