The Edo PDP campaign has receive a lot of boost and support from its Diaspora members, on the auspices of EDO PDP UK-EUROPE. The group has been on ground since the inception of the Ward to Ward Campaign, which started/Kickoff in Edo North with 64 Wards tour, and then moved to Edo Central with 55 Wards and finally progressed to Edo South to cover 77 Wards.
The Coordinator of the group Chief Iyore Monday Osagie, spoke to grassroothotnews.com Edo Campaign correspondence, on the reason they’re supporting and massively mobilizing for the re-election of Gov. Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy Comrade Philip Shaibu, saying “We are here on solidarity mission, we want to ensure that the Governor and his deputy gets massive votes in this election and return to office for a second term, so that they can keep the good work of MAKING EDO Great Again on.
He continued by listing project embark upon by the Obaseki/Shaibu’s administration, some have been commissioned, others near completion. “I was marveled with the pace of development of the modular refinery, no administration in Nigeria and Africa has achieved such fit with the space of 4yrs, and more so, he embarked of power generating project, what that means it that, once the project is completed, Edo citizens and perhaps neighboring states would have access to uninterrupted power supply. I have seen his agricultural intervention program, I spoke with farmers in local communities, especially at Urhonigbe community, where the indigenes of the Urhonigbe community are happy about the rubber plantation, and there is a great difference in their lives and businesses compare to the inglorious days of Adams Oshiomhole.”
We in the Diaspora are not just campaigning online, or just making phone calls to our people, we are coming home, good enough, you have seen me with more than 10 persons today as at the time of this discussion, we all came down to Nigeria to mobilize, join the campaign and cast our votes for PDP and her candidate, in spite of the Pandemic, flight ticket price is very high now, because of the lockdown, but we differ that and came home, more of our persons are coming home to vote, our people will enjoy the best of governance. We don’t just want to allow the wrong people have access to our commonwealth” – Chief Iyore said.
