The newly appointed Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Larry Ogieva on 29th September, 2020 received in audience an entourage of visitors consisting Miss Victory Momodu, the reigning Miss Culture 2019, her Brand Manager, Mrs Remi Momodu and other personalities that accompanied the Beauty Queen on a courtesy visit to the honourable Commissioner.

In her opening remarks, the Brand Manager of the Beauty Queen, Mrs. Remi Momodu formally congratulated the newly appointed Commissioner, Hon. Larry Ogieva on his new appointment and prayed that God gives the wisdom and understanding to successfully pilot the affairs of the Ministry.
She informed the commissioner that they came to formally present the Beauty Crown won by Miss Victory Momodu to the Edo State government through the Ministry in recognition and appreciation of the Governor’s commitment to developing the State’s Arts and Culture.
In his response, Hon. Larry Ogieva thanked Miss Culture and her entourage for the visit and decision to present the Beauty Queen and the Crown to the Ministry.
Meanwhile, the Honourable Commissioner apologised to them for the late reception as it was occasioned by his tight political engagements preceding the last governorship election in the State.
He congratulated the 19 years old Beauty Queen who is a Biochemistry student at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma for her ability to successfully combine Beauty and Brains.
He informed his visitors that Governor Obaseki would be pleased to hear of the good news as he is passionate about the development of Arts and Culture seb-sector of the economy. He also assured them that the State government would do everything with the limited resources at its disposal to assist her grow higher in her chosen extra-curricular activities.
In her response, Miss Victory Momodu thanked the Commissioner and the Ministry for honouring her with the unprecedented reception. She informed the Commissioner that she was happy she came tops among the several contestants from different states.
In his closing remarks, the Ministry’s Director of Culture, Mr. Ehichoya Okodouh thanked the Beauty Queen and her entourage for the visit and encouraged her to continue to promote and propagate the rich Cultural Heritage of Edo State and when necessary, the Ministry would invite her for partnership when there is any event that requires her input.
Other senior staff of the Ministry who joined the Honourable Commissioner to receive the visitors were Mr. Felix Ndidi Ehikwe, Director of Information and Public Relations and Mr. Felix Ideh, Director of Planning, Research and Documentation.
Other persons in the Beauty Queen’ s entourage were Mrs. Benedicta Momodu, Mr. Anderson Orhonise (Project Manager), Miss Lizzy Angoye and Miss Aiyashat Momodu (P.A)
