The outstanding performance at improving the fortunes of Edo people by the performing governor of Edo State, received a further commendation yesterday, when Governor Obaseki was honoured by the National Association Of Christian Journalists, NACJ.
While presenting the award at the governor’s campaign rally at Eyaen, Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State, Dr. Charles Okhai, National General Secretary of the body said, “we arrived at the decision to honour the governor after due consultations with a cross-section of Edo People and discovered that Obaseki’s performance in the entire 18 local government areas and in all sectors of the state are legendary.”
Dr. Okhai further noted that NACJ does not give awards to undeserving personalities or institutions; adding that their awards are unsolicited and based on credible performance yardsticks before they are offered.
He urged Edo people to reciprocate the governor’s developmental strides by ensuring that he is returned for a second term to consolidate and complete the development template of Edo State.
Receiving the award, Governor Obaseki expressed gratitudes to NACJ for the recognition and pledged to make life more meaningful for the people of Edo Sate by ensuring that democracy dividends are equitably brought to the doorsteps of all Edo citizens.
Governor Obaseki who dedicated the award to Edo people by standing by him all through the years, urge the people to stand firm on the paths of truth, justice and sincerity of purpose; adding that such virtues are recognized and adequately rewarded with time and posterity.
