Voting Stopped in Some part of Ondo State, as counting kicks off

The Ondo State Gubernatorial polls which Started at different time this morning, hits an end in major polling units across the State. Inec officials have started sorting ballot papers from the boxes and counting will commence immediately after that.

Earlier, the candidate of the PDP Mr. Eyitayo Jegede and his Wife, were spotted in his voting unit, which is unit 9 ward 2 of A kure South, both cast their votes and express his hope in winning the election.

Our correspondence reported that, although there were initial pockets of violence in some parts of the State, but it was brought under control by security forces.

He also reported that the video which is currently flying on social media is fake and there wasn’t any threat to the life of her excellency the wife of the Executive Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

Although, there were incidence of vote buying but it was immediately stopped and offended arrested by security agents on ground. The election was relatively peaceful, free and fair. It was an improvement on that of the success achieved during the Edo2020 polls.

However Calm was restored to Polling Unit 11, Edo Lodge in Oke Ijebu Akure following sporadic shootings by hoodlums few minutes into the election, the men of the join security forces organized for the purpose of ensuring free, fair and credible polls, arrested the situation and the hoodlums were dispersed immediately, some where however caught and arrested.
